Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP/ ACNP)/ Physician Assistant Abdominal Transplant Critical Care Program

About the role

This position offers opportunities to assist physicians in various inpatient settings including the hospital, emergency department, and clinics. The role involves making patient rounds, contributing to daily care decisions, writing orders, interacting with consultants, and coordinating tests and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assists attending physicians in managing patients on inpatient units.
• Provides comprehensive medical care in the emergency department and chest pain observation unit.
• Coordinates diagnostic and therapeutic health care for patients, including taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, and prescribing medications.
• Shares call hours, phone coverage, and sees admitted patients within the hospital.
• Assists attending ICU physicians in managing patients, including making patient rounds and coordinating tests and procedures.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Nursing.
• Credentialing: Must meet requirements set by the Medical Staff Office to obtain and retain privileges as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse within UF Health Shands Hospital and/or the Shands UF Healthcare Network.
• Additional Requirements: Specific area or specialty requirements based on the type of inpatient setting (Adult ICUs, Emergency Medicine, Pediatric ICU, Surgical/Operative Adult, Pediatric Clinic/Primary Care, Nurse Midwife, Psychology/Psychiatry).

Qualifications

• Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Master’s degree in Nursing.
• Credentialing: Current and clear license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida.
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS is required.
