Nurse Practitioner Advanced Heart Failure
Job Details
As a PRN Nurse Practitioner - Advanced Heart Failure with CHI St. Vincent Medical Group, you will join our team to deliver direct, specialized care to our patients with advanced heart failure and/or pulmonary hypertension.
You will utilize your expertise to conduct detailed assessments, diagnose, treat, and monitor chronic diseases. This vital role involves ordering diagnostic tests, and managing medications, all under the direct supervision of an advanced heart failure physician. You will also be responsible for utilizing training and skills to provide direct care for patients with advanced heart failure and/or pulmonary hypertension to include but not limited to proficiency in mechanical circulatory support devices under the direct supervision of the advanced heart failure physician.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including obtaining medical histories and performing physical exams.
- Diagnose, treat, and monitor chronic diseases within established protocol guidelines.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Prescribe or recommend medications and treatments according to protocol.
- Provide preventive health screenings, immunizations, and patient education on positive lifestyle habits.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians on patient care, documentation, and hospital rounds, while ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Work PRN weekend coverage (Saturday and Sunday), 7am - 7pm shift, 1-2 weekends per month.
Job Requirements
- Required:
- Certified Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician Assistant active or eligible license in the state of Arkansas
- Acute care certification required
- 3-5 years clinical nursing practice in an acute care setting required.
- 1-3 years previous experience as a NP in an acute care setting or equivalent RN experience in ICU or CVICU
- BLS
- ACLS
