Nurse Practitioner-Adult Psychiatry Outpatient

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage medication for new and established patients under limited supervision.
  • Deliver outpatient medical and psychiatric care, including crisis assessments and interventions.
  • Participate in and lead treatment planning meetings.
  • Collaborate with CCBHC team members to support family members and educate on mental illness and recovery.
  • Work closely with the psychiatry team for timely prescriptions and access to care.
  • Partner with nursing staff for physical health assessment, care coordination, and referral to community providers.
  • Serve as a liaison between F&CS and hospitals/emergency facilities for inpatient admissions.
  • Document consumer progress in the electronic health record daily.
  • Complete PAP documentation daily to maximize medication access.
  • Offer evening clinic hours to accommodate consumer needs.
  • Provide psychiatric and primary care consultation to the Adult Behavioral Health Home team.
  • Utilize tele-psychiatry services as appropriate, ensuring consumers can opt for in-person services if preferred.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate knowledge of co-occurring disorders and maintain collaborative prescribing privileges.
  • Adhere to Oklahoma Scope of Practice guidelines.
  • Have a Nurse Practitioner license and current DEA registration.
  • Experience in providing medication management services, including office-based opioid treatment and outpatient withdrawal management.
  • Knowledge of the CCBHC model, including its history, philosophy, structure, and purpose.
  • Ability to maintain an 85–90% schedule fill rate and ensure services are welcoming, engaging, integrated, and comprehensive in scope.
