Duties Description

You would assess the physical and psychosocial status of clients by means of interview, health history, physical examination, and diagnostic tests. Your work may include the diagnosis of illness and physical conditions and the performance of therapeutic and corrective measures.

Requirements

  • Maintain your license and/or registration once appointed.
  • Not be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of the Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists (or excluded from any other Federal or Federally assisted program).
  • Be able to bill through Medicare and Medicaid if required.
  • Possess a degree or college credit from a regionally accredited college or university, or provide equivalency documentation from a recognized institution outside the United States.
  • Pay the required evaluation fee.
  • Hold a New York State License and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND certification by the New York State Education Department in the Adult Health specialty area to practice as a Nurse Practitioner.

Qualifications

Your degree or college credit must have been awarded by a regionally accredited college or university or one recognized by the NYS Education Department as following acceptable educational practices. If your degree or college credit was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. You can write to the Examination Information Desk of the Department of Civil Service for a list of acceptable companies who provide this service. You must pay the required evaluation fee.

Pay

The posted salary is the sum of the statutory job rate for PS&T Grade 24 ($115,252) plus a Geographic Differential ($40,000), and a Mid-Hudson Adjustment ($2,000).
