Nurse Practitioner - Addiction Medicine
About the role
Join the Racine Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the Outpatient Medication‑Assisted Treatment (MAT) Opioid Treatment Program. You will provide advanced nursing care, conduct comprehensive evaluations, develop personalized treatment plans, and prescribe medications as permitted by Wisconsin state regulations. Working under the guidance of the Medical Director and Nurse Supervisor, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and uphold the highest standards of care.
Practice Setting
Outpatient Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) serving adult patients in Racine, WI. CTC is part of Acadia Healthcare’s Comprehensive Treatment Centers, the nation’s leading provider of medication‑assisted treatment.
Schedule
Part‑time: 5 am – 10 am, two days per week.
Responsibilities
- Provide initial and annual history and physical evaluations, assess eligibility for treatment, and evaluate patients’ opioid dependence history.
- Order appropriate laboratory studies, review results, and deliver education, referrals, or follow‑up services as needed.
- Monitor treatment plans for high‑risk patients.
- Prescribe medication for substance‑use disorder treatment in accordance with state regulations.
- Consult and collaborate with the Medical Director to plan and implement care per Nurse Practitioner Guidelines.
- Report and document significant patient issues and adverse events.
- Communicate pertinent information to appropriate members of the health‑care team.
- Collaborate with the Nurse Supervisor to optimize quality and efficiency.
- Ensure program and employee activities comply with all laws, clinic policies, and standards of conduct.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner (preferred).
- Previous experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings (outpatient, residential, or correctional) preferred.
- Familiarity with Medication‑Assisted Treatment (MAT), including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
- Knowledge of state regulatory standards (e.g., 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, Joint Commission standards).
- No history of alcohol or drug misuse for three years prior to employment.
Licenses, Certifications & Designations
- Board‑Certified Nurse Practitioner.
- Licensed to practice in the state of Wisconsin.
- DEA license.
