Nurse Practitioner – Addiction Medicine

About the role

Boulder Care is hiring experienced Nurse Practitioners aligned with harm reduction principles. In this position, you will work directly with patients to deliver medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) in a fully remote outpatient setting. Clinicians in this role independently initiate and manage buprenorphine treatment within a structured, team-supported model of care.

Responsibilities

• Work independently to initiate and manage buprenorphine treatment for opioid use disorder
• Deliver fully virtual, evidence-based care through a multidisciplinary team
• Meet patients where they are and empower them to reduce harm and build stability on their own terms
• Identify and support patients' recovery goals through shared decision-making
• Work flexible hours with various shift options

Requirements

• Reside in one of the following states: AK, AZ, CO, FL, ID, IL, KS, MA, MD, MN, NC, NH, NM, NV, NY, OH, OR, VA, WA, WY
• Active NP license in your state of residence
• At least 1 year of experience in an independent, outpatient setting where you regularly prescribed buprenorphine-based medications — including initiating care, not just continuing existing prescriptions — as a core part of your daily practice
• Interested in full-time work: 30-40 hours/week, with various shift options (see below for details)

• Strong patient-centered practice and ability to work autonomously
• Private workspace with HIPAA-compliant setup

Skills

• Experience with harm reduction principles
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting
• Knowledge of buprenorphine treatment and MOUD

Benefits

• Paid break allotments: 30-minute and 10-minute breaks for 8+ hour shifts, 30-minute and two 10-minute breaks for 10+ hour shifts
• Compensation: $130,000–$140,000 (up to $145,000 in select markets) for 1.0 FTE (40 hours/week)
