Nurse - Part-time or PRN (Weekend, Overnight)

Position Description/Responsibilities

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled nurse to join our team in providing exceptional care to individuals and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As the on-duty nurse, you will be the primary contact for any medical needs during our respite program. Under the guidance of our Nursing Director and supported by our dedicated team of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), you’ll play a key role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our clients.

• Administering home medications
• Managing tube feedings
• Attending to injuries/ administering first aid
• Responding to all medical emergencies
• Document and communicate medical updates as needed

Requirements

• Must have the ability to remain calm, focused and anticipate medical/nursing care needs and provide solutions.
• Must be confident in nursing skills and willing to learn best practices in caring for clients with disabilities.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills and must work well with others.
• Must be able to take the initiative, collaborate well with others, and have organizational skills.
• Must demonstrate alignment with the foundation, vision, mission, and values of Jill’s House and affirm the McLean Bible Church Vision & Values and Standards of Christian conduct.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a current, active, and unrestricted RN or LPN license in the state of Virginia or state with compact reciprocity.
• BSN is preferred.
• Candidate must have a current CPR/BLS certification.
• One year of nursing experience is required.
