Nurse Navigator - Registered Nurse - Breast Oncology

Location: Mercy Coletta Cancer Center - Oklahoma City

About the role

The Nurse Navigator is a nursing specialist who follows patients across the continuum of care. The Navigator coordinates, with an advanced level of clinical expertise, all aspects of treatment and care for—and in collaboration with—Mercy’s patients, their family and significant others, physicians, the interdisciplinary team, and other support staff.

Schedule

Full Time (40 hours/week), Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of oncology patient treatment and care
• Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams
• Provide formal patient education and community educational presentations
• Facilitate support-group activities

Requirements

• Graduate from an approved school of nursing
• RN (Registered Nurse) licensed in state of practice
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required within 30 days of hire
• 2 years of related nursing experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• 3 years of experience in an oncology setting
• Certification in Oncology Nursing or Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification

Physical Requirements

• Push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Prolonged standing and walking each shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
