About the role
The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) provides comprehensive, compassionate care to women throughout their reproductive lifecycle, including prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum care. In addition to maternity care, the CNM may offer gynecological services, family planning, and primary care. Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, the CNM is committed to delivering personalized, evidence-based care to promote optimal maternal and newborn health.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, compassionate care to women throughout their reproductive lifecycle, including prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
- Offer gynecological services, family planning, and primary care.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver personalized, evidence-based care.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding maternal and newborn health care.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nurse Midwifery
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Midwifery program
- Current RN license with North Carolina State Board of Nursing or Compact License recognized by NC State Board of Nursing
- Maintains current BLS certification
- Three years professional nursing experience
Qualifications
- Experience in maternal and newborn health care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice in midwifery care

- Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills

- Proficient in electronic health record systems
