About the role
The Nurse Manager-Registered Nurse (RN) position at Select Specialty Hospital - Midtown Atlanta is dedicated to providing compassionate, excellent treatment and leadership to chronic, critically ill patients. The role involves guiding, planning, and directing hospital activities while ensuring the efficient functioning of designated nursing units.
Responsibilities
- Assessing patient care needs and coordinating the appropriate assignment of nursing staff to facilitate patient outcomes.
- Coordinating schedules for nursing staff assigned to the area of responsibility.
- Assisting in establishing and maintaining communication channels with medical staff and other departments within the hospital.
- Participating in budgetary formulation and cost containment for areas of responsibility.
- Maintaining effective utilization of manpower, equipment, and supplies.
- Assessing the need for and assisting in implementing staff education and clinical development programs.
- Supervising the overall nursing care performance, maintaining quality patient care, and providing staff assessments with written evaluations at designated intervals.
Requirements
- Requires current RN licensure.
- At least 3 years of clinical practice experience with an emphasis on leadership.
- 1 year of previous management experience.
- Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 6 months of hire.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's of Science in Nursing preferred.
Skills
Nursing leadership skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently are essential.
