Principal Responsibilities

  • Celebrates new hire orientations for nursing staff, including skills assessments.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains comprehensive training for all nursing staff, collaborating and receiving guidance from the Corporate Nurse Manager (CNM).
  • Provides ongoing training, education, and remediation for nursing and ancillary staff.
  • Responsible for coordinating all nursing credentialing functions.
  • Coordinates skills lab training and annual competency testing for Medical Assistants and licensed nurses.
  • Supports and assists the Program Director with nursing staff oversight and collaborates with the CNM to address clinical performance issues.
  • Collaborates with the Medical Director and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to provide a continuum of medical care.
  • Supports the Program Director in participating in case conferences regarding MLK RCC clients, assisting care teams in treatment plans.
  • Collects patient complaints and follows appropriate procedures to resolve them. Reports major issues concerning clinical operations to relevant management staff.
  • Supports the Program Director in required reporting and data collection, ensuring clinical compliance with federal, state, local regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Collaborates with the Operations and Quality Assurance (QA) teams to enhance Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) initiatives.
  • Assists with direct client care and management, overseeing patient screening, triage, dispensary, and medication ordering processes.
  • Collaborates with the Program Director to ensure adherence to safety guidelines and facility requirements.
  • Serves as an on-site and/or on-call administrator in the absence of the Program Director/Assistant Program Director.
  • Participates in medical updates and training as appropriate.
  • Maintains adherence to the Agency and DHS Policies and Procedures. Attends meetings as indicated.

Requirements

  • Licensed by the State of California to practice as a Registered Nurse.
  • CPR on an annual basis (training may be provided).
  • At least five years of experience in an ambulatory care setting.
  • At least two years of experience supervising registered nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, and Medical Assistants.
  • Experience working with patients and staff from diverse socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to travel between sites.
