About the role
Olympic Medical Center is located on the beautiful North Olympic Peninsula in Washington state. The area offers a variety of recreational activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, kayaking, and cycling. It is bordered by Olympic National Park, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and the Pacific Coast, with Seattle and Victoria, BC nearby.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Serves as the primary leader of a patient care unit, overseeing daily clinical operations including staffing, workflow, and resource allocation.
- Directly supervises and supports nursing and ancillary staff, providing guidance and feedback.
- Manages staff performance, professional development, and fosters a collaborative, positive work environment.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and performance monitoring by analyzing clinical outcomes, addressing variances, and implementing evidence-based practices.
- Collaborates with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and hospital leadership to ensure continuity of care and achieve organizational goals.
- Oversees budget oversight, policy implementation, regulatory compliance, and participates in strategic planning efforts to enhance patient care services and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing required.
- Master’s or postgraduate degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or a clinical-related field preferred upon hire or recommended within 5 years of employment.
- Certification as a Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML) preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ clinical nursing leadership experience required.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing within the State of Washington or ability to attain one is required.
Skills
- Strong leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Pay
The starting salary range for this position is $123,219.20 - $201,032.00 per year. Shift differentials/premiums apply.
Schedule
Full-time, 100% work shift. Workdays are available.
