As the Emergency Room Nurse Manager, you will lead a tight-knit, cohesive nursing team in an accredited stroke and chest pain care facility. This role offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of leadership, saving lives and providing top-notch care while expanding specialized pediatric services. You will directly impact patient and family care throughout their hospital experience.

The Nurse Manager is responsible for the continual operation of specified nursing unit(s), reporting to the Director of Medical Surgical Services or Director of Critical Care Services. You will demonstrate critical thinking, creativity, and resource management to ensure quality performance, positive employee relations, and compliance with hospital guidelines. This role involves coaching, motivating, mentoring, and leading a professional team while ensuring effective stewardship of resources and driving necessary changes within the unit.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the emergency department nursing unit(s).
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.
  • Manage resources to achieve quality performance and compliance with hospital guidelines.
  • Coach, motivate, mentor, and lead a team of nurses, patient care technicians, paramedics, and EMTs.
  • Demonstrate effective stewardship of resources while maintaining quality care.
  • Act as a change agent for assigned areas, implementing required changes.
  • Participate in outstanding customer service for patients, families, physicians, and other contacts.
  • Maintain respectful relationships with all stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (required).
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (strongly preferred).
  • Current Florida Nursing License.
  • ACLS and BLS for Healthcare Providers (preferred).
  • Professional certification from a national organization (preferred).
  • Minimum of two years of professional nursing practice experience.
  • Prior management experience (preferred).
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Maintains or exceeds all specialty educational requirements.
