As the Emergency Room Nurse Manager, you will lead a tight-knit, cohesive nursing team comprising nurses, patient care technicians, paramedics, and EMTs. This role is pivotal in a facility specializing in accredited stroke and chest pain care, with an expanding focus on specialized pediatric care. You will be at the forefront of leadership, ensuring top-notch care and fostering teamwork in a high-acuity setting.

The Nurse Manager (NM) is a registered professional nurse who directly impacts patient and family care throughout their hospital experience. Reporting to the Director of Medical Surgical Services or Director of Critical Care Services, the NM oversees the continual operation of specified nursing units, demonstrating critical thinking, creativity, and resource management to achieve quality performance, positive employee relations, and compliance with hospital guidelines.

The NM coaches, motivates, mentors, and leads a professional and technical team in delivering services for the patient population, ensuring high-quality care and effective stewardship of resources. As a change agent, the NM implements required changes for the assigned areas and actively participates in outstanding customer service, maintaining respectful relationships with patients, families, physicians, and other contacts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the daily operations of the emergency department nursing unit(s).
• Demonstrate critical thinking and creativity in managing resources to achieve quality performance and compliance with hospital guidelines.
• Coach, motivate, mentor, and lead a team of nurses, patient care technicians, paramedics, and EMTs.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality care for patients and families.
• Act as a change agent for assigned areas, implementing required changes.
• Maintain positive employee relations and effective stewardship of resources.
• Participate in outstanding customer service, fostering respectful relationships with patients, families, physicians, and other contacts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (required).
• Master’s Degree in Nursing (strongly preferred).
• Current Florida Nursing License.
• ACLS and BLS for Healthcare Providers (preferred).
• Professional certification from a national organization (preferred).
• Minimum of two years of professional nursing practice experience.
• Prior management experience (preferred).
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Maintains or exceeds all specialty educational requirements.
