Nurse Manager - Emergency Department

Responsibilities

• Organizational planning and compliance with regulatory standards
• Fiscal management and setting/maintaining standards of nursing care and practice
• Coordination of services and professional growth of staff
• Serving as a clinical resource for nurses
• Monitoring/assessing clinical practice and guiding the development of standards of care and practice
• Counseling/educating staff when practice deviates from standards
• Interfacing with patients, families, staff, external agencies, and other organizational units

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with NYS license
• Baccalaureate degree required
• Two to five years’ critical care or emergency room experience required, including experience in patient care
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
• Completing RIES or similar program within the first year
• Completing TNCC and ENPC within two years of hire
• Three to five years of demonstrated progressive leadership
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
• Able to work under stressful situations
• Possesses good oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrates interpersonal relationships that enhance communication, promote conflict resolution, and facilitate staff development
• Skills and knowledge to sustain and evaluate clinical completion in caring for specific age and type of patient population served

Benefits

A one-time signing bonus of $10,000 is available. The bonus will be paid in two installments: $5,000 as a gross pay adjustment in the first paycheck, and a second $5,000 installment after six months of employment. All amounts reflect gross pay prior to applicable tax withholdings and legally required deductions.
