Nurse Manager - Critical Care Step Down

About the role

The Critical Care Department (CCU) at North Alabama Medical Center (NAMC) in Florence, Alabama offers Registered Nurses the opportunity to work in a dynamic, high-acuity environment that bridges critical care and medical-surgical nursing. Responsibilities

• Serve as the accountable leader for all aspects of Critical Care.
• Drive continuous improvement in outcomes, cost of care, and patient satisfaction.
• Partner with quality leadership to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and advance toward becoming a highly reliable organization.
• Collaborate with other service line leaders, facility leadership, and system executives to provide consistent, patient-centered care.
• Support provider and staff recruitment, retention, and engagement.
• Demonstrate values through inspirational leadership and a commitment to patient-centered outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and hospital leadership to enhance care coordination, patient experience, and service delivery.
• Oversee ongoing staff education, competency, and adherence to clinical and patient safety standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Current Alabama RN license (or eligible for licensure).
• Three or more years of experience in all aspects of medical surgical nursing and a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and build effective relationships.
• Experience with budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation in acute care settings.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and implement performance-improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• BLS required and ACLS preferred (or obtained within a defined timeframe).

Skills

• Comprehensive knowledge of critical care nursing practices.
• Ability to manage complex patient care situations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using electronic health records and clinical software.
