Nurse Manager - Acute Rehab Unit - West Hospital
Job Summary
Absorbs 24-hour responsibility for supervising and coordinating administrative and operational activities in assigned areas. Collaborates with ancillary and interdisciplinary teams to develop goals and objectives based on clinical data to improve patient outcomes and foster a culture of excellence. Ensures achievement of targeted Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and identified outcomes at the unit level.
Essential Functions
- Provides daily operational oversight, management, and clinical support to the healthcare team.
- Serves as a professional role model, mentor, and clinical resource.
- Maintains personal and professional growth while fostering an environment conducive to interdisciplinary team members contributing to optimal patient outcomes and professional development.
- Models core cultural and safety behaviors to eliminate preventable harm and implement high reliability principles.
- Maintains productivity targets for assigned department.
- Supports strategic initiatives aligned with the organization's mission and vision.
Education
Bachelor of Science Nursing (required) Masters of Science Nursing or Masters in Health Administration or related field (preferred)
Licenses & Certifications
- Current RN license in state they are working or covered by compact (required)
- BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to entering patient care setting)
- Certifications required based on the unit(s) the leader oversees and the requirements for those specific units: PALS, ACLS, NRP, TNCC, ENPC, National Board Certification Specialty, Nurse Executive Certification or designated specialty certification (preferred)
Experience
- 3 years minimum experience as a professional nurse with demonstrated leadership capabilities (required)
- 1 year experience in appropriate specialty area (preferred)
- Prior management/supervisory experience (preferred)
