Responsibilities

• Directs and manages nursing care on assigned units, operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
• Affirms, plans, implements, and evaluates care using resident outcomes data.
• Provides clinical leadership within the institution.
• Ensures unit compliance with regulatory standards.
• Represents the Nursing Division in a variety of meetings and committees.
• Maintains, monitors, and promotes a resident-centered philosophy which supports the autonomy, dignity, and rights of residents and others.
• May perform other duties as assigned/required.

Requirements

• LICENSE: Possession of a valid, including temporary or interim, California Registered Nurse License issued by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN).
• EDUCATION: Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and/or university in Nursing, Nursing Administration, or a closely related field.
• EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years (equivalent to 4,000 hours) of experience as a Registered Nurse in a long-term care, rehabilitation, or acute care hospital, within the last five (5) years.

Qualifications

• TWO YEARS ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE AS AN ASSISTANT NURSE MANAGER/CHARGE NURSE IN A LONG-TERM CARE FACILITY, LICENSED HOME HEALTH AGENCY OR OTHER HOSPITAL SETTING MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR THE EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT. ONE YEAR (2,000 HOURS) OF WORK EXPERIENCE IS EQUIVALENT TO 30 SEMESTER CREDITS OR 45 QUARTER CREDITS.
