Nurse (LPN or RN)

About the Role

Nurses at Fast Pace Urgent Care provide clinical and administrative support essential for effective patient care under the direct supervision of a Provider, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. They provide outstanding patient service, maintaining a compassionate and welcoming atmosphere and respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. The Nurse position will provide effective customer service for all internal and external customers by using excellent, in-depth knowledge as well as communicating effectively with team members.

Responsibilities

• Ability to fulfill all responsibilities of the Patient Care Specialist and Scribe position as detailed in the specific Patient Care Specialist and Scribe job description
• Maintain friendly, cordial relations with all employees; build and maintain confidence and credibility with all employees
• Deliver clinical and administrative support for the team and adhere to all policies and procedures of the company

• Ensure activities are conducted in compliance with Federal and State regulations, guidelines, and requirements including working knowledge of HIPAA
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms for patient intake
• Triage patients by checking vitals, performing blood draws and giving injections
• Observe patients, charting, reporting changes in patients' conditions such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and taking necessary action
• Assist with lab testing and phlebotomy
• Assist providers in preparing for minor procedures and physicals
• Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatment
• Assist patients utilizing a Virtual Medicine Provider
• Ensure accurate completion of patient charts in a timely manner and forward charts as appropriate on a daily basis
• Arrange referrals to specialists and obtain pre-authorizations when directed by the Provider
• Perform federal and non-federal DOT, BAT and Drug Screen exams
• Welcome new employees on their first day in the clinic and facilitate introductions to team members, clinic tours, and an overview of the clinic processes
• Actively assist new employees with learning activities and completing required training
• Support new employee training by providing job shadowing, demonstration, and coaching opportunities
• Assist with clerical work such as checking in patients, obtaining and recording demographic, insurance and financial information with strong attention to detail
• Verify insurance eligibility and relay relevant information on payment policies and billing/collection processes
• Answer telephone, take messages and return voicemails in a friendly and professional manner
• Maintain overall cleanliness of the office including taking out garbage, organization and cleanliness of desk, patient and office space
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
• Perform administration duties including scheduling, ordering, training, and other duties assigned by Clinic and/or Regional Director

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
• Current CPR license
• Current LPN or RN license must be active, in good standing, and verifiable with the proper regulatory agency
• At least 1 year of experience as an LPN/RN preferred in clinic setting, preferably urgent care
• TB and IV Certification required to be obtained within 60 days of employment and maintained during employment if applicable in your state
• Ability to perform the physical, use of senses, cognitive, and environmental functions of the position as specified on the physical demands
• Ability to comply with Company standards of operations
• Ability to promote and maintain a respectful culture of employee, employer and business confidentiality
• Responsible for learning all aspects of compliance by completing all mandatory compliance training

Experience Levels

• Level 1: High School Diploma or equivalent with current CPR license and at least 1 year of experience as a certified LPN preferred in clinic setting, preferably urgent care
• Level 2: Certified LPN with current CPR license and either (1) 3 years' experience in relevant role and 1 year of Fast Pace experience in Nurse role or (2) 4 years' experience in relevant role. Or Certified RN with current CPR license and either (1) 1 year experience in relevant role and 1 year of Fast Pace experience in Nurse role or (2) 2 years experience as Nurse
• Level 3: Certified LPN with current CPR license and either (1) 5 years' experience in relevant role and 2 years of Fast Pace experience in Nurse role or (2) 6 years' experience in relevant role OR Certified RN with current CPR license and either (1) 3 years experience in relevant role and 1 year of Fast Pace experience in Nurse role or (2) 4 years experience as a Nurse
• Level 4: Certified RN with current CPR license and at least 10 years as a Nurse and 1 year of Fast Pace experience
• Level 5: Certified RN with current CPR license and at least 15 years as a Nurse and 2 years of Fast Pace experience
• Level 6: Certified LPN with current CPR license and either (1) 5 years' experience in relevant role and 2 years of Fast Pace experience in Nurse role or (2) 6 years' experience in relevant role OR Certified RN with current CPR license and either (1) 3 years experience in relevant role and 1 year of Fast Pace experience in Nurse role or (2) 4 years experience as a Nurse
