About the role
Covenant Living, the nation's sixth-largest nonprofit senior living provider, is seeking qualified candidates for Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses (LPNs/LVNs). This position ensures quality care through monitoring staff performance, physician contact, care planning, and daily resident observation. It also provides direct care to residents, adhering to nursing standards, procedures, and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in routine daily direction and monitor the work of nursing assistants, ensuring high standards of care and task completion.
- Aid in the orientation of new LPNs/LVNs and nursing assistants, reinforcing training standards to maintain high-quality care.
- Communicate regularly with the Nurse Manager or Director of Nursing about observations, suggestions, resident and employee activities, concerns, needs, conditions, etc.
- Observe and evaluate residents' health, mental, and emotional conditions, communicating significant changes to appropriate staff.
- Notify physicians and family members as necessary according to prescribed procedures.
- Provide direct patient care, including procedures like catheter placement, colostomy care, suction, dressing, naso-gastric tubes, and other treatments.
- Participate in shift reports to ensure proper information about residents is communicated.
- Assist in the admission, orientation, and observation of new residents, ensuring physician orders for diets, therapy, medication, etc., are transcribed and communicated according to procedure.
Requirements
The ideal candidate must have graduated from an approved school of licensed practical/vocational nursing, hold a current license as an LPN/LVN in good standing, and have one year of nursing experience. Devotion to professional nursing standards and principles is essential.
Qualifications
Graduate of an approved school of licensed practical/vocational nursing.
Skills
Knowledge of nursing standards of practice, standard procedures, and established State and Federal regulations for skilled nursing facilities.

Pay
Compensation Pay Range: $25.86 - $36.03 per hour
