Responsibilities

• Affords infant through adult patient care under the direction of the Nurse Manager or assigned RN-Clinical Nurse.
• Performs only those skills listed in the Record of Activity of Orientation (RAO).
• Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited RN nursing program (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Completed fundamentals of nursing.
• Currently registered in clinical.
• Continuous enrollment in a nursing program or a graduate of a nursing program and board eligible.
• BLS Certification from the AHA for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Eligibility to continue in the position lasts for a maximum of 6 months after graduation from nursing school.
• Ability to interact effectively with various cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Physical Requirements

• Sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day.
• Sit or stand for extended periods.
• See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
• Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
• Ability to lift 250-300 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance.
• Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
• Requires some exposure to chemicals and cleaning products.
