Job Summary

As our Emergency Services Nurse at our Mesa-Baseline Hospital Satellite Emergency Department, you will take a leadership role in assessing patient/family health problems and resources, and developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive nursing care plans. This position provides professional nursing care and interventions to acutely ill adult patient populations across all ages, from young adults to geriatrics, within a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

Responsibilities

  • Triage patients, assess their condition, and administer medications and treatments, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, technicians, and support staff to ensure timely and critical interventions.
  • Meticulously monitor patient progress, educate patients and families on health management, and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with hospital protocols.
  • Serve as a patient advocate, quickly adapting to changes in patient conditions (e.g., lab results, vitals), utilizing the SBAR format for physician notification, and performing nurse-to-nurse reports, all while balancing patient needs with comfort.
  • Use emergency triage protocol to intake, discharge or admit patients.
  • Deliver stabilizing care to emergency patients of all ages as part of the larger ER team, adapting care to changes in patient’s condition as needed.
  • Demonstrate the ability to recognize and adapt to changes in patients' condition (i.e., lab, vitals, signs and test values) in a timely and clinically appropriate manner.
  • Delegate tasks based on the needs of the patient, potential for harm, patient stability, task complexity, and outcome predictability within the scope of skill set and practice.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Registered Nurse: AZ
  • American Heart Association BLS
  • American Heart Association ACLS
  • American Heart Association PALS
  • Preferred: BSN
  • Two (2) years of Emergency Services experience
