Job Summary and Qualifications
The Nurse Extern Telemetry role at HCA HealthONE Mountain Ridge is designed to provide valuable hands-on experience to individuals interested in pursuing a career in nursing. Key responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, checking vital signs, supporting mobility, ensuring patient comfort and hygiene, performing basic nursing tasks, documenting care, and communicating updates to the nursing team. Essential qualifications include Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment, an Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree, and no travel required.
Responsibilities
- Providing essential care for patients by helping with ADLs, checking vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring comfort and hygiene
- Performing nursing tasks such as wound care, catheter care, collecting specimens, and other basic procedures
- Documenting care accurately and communicating timely updates with the nursing team to maintain seamless and coordinated patient care
- Helping patients and families understand their care plans and offering guidance for their health and recovery
- Keeping patient areas clean and safe by following infection prevention practices, managing equipment, and maintaining an organized environment
- Engaging in learning opportunities, sharing ideas to improve care, and building a personal career development plan with your supervisor or preceptor
Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- An Associate Degree or Bachelors Degree is required
- No travel is required
