About the role

We are seeking a Nurse Extern PRN Behavioral Health Unit to join Frisbie Memorial Hospital. This position offers valuable hands-on experience and the opportunity to build skills in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate care that improves patients' lives
• Assist the nursing staff in providing patient care
• Perform direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the licensed nurse
• Obtain and record initial and ongoing patient information throughout the cycle of care
• Absorb and communicate complex medical terminology to patients/families/caregivers
• Assist with patient mobility, turning, positioning, and ambulation
• Transfer patients to and from other units/departments
• Work closely with the clinical team to create and implement a care plan
• Prepare patients/families/caregivers for discharge and future self-management

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of nursing
• Ability to create and implement a personal career development plan
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
