About the Role

The Nurse Extern role is designed to provide expanded clinical experience for senior professional (RN) nursing students and to assist the Registered Nursing staff by performing patient care activities. This includes participating in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation, as well as reporting significant observations to a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for med-surg patients in advanced facilities, including a primary stroke center and a long-term acute care unit.
• Perform patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Participate in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation.
• Report significant observations to a Registered Nurse.

Requirements

• In the final semester of a MA accredited nursing program.
• CPR certification.

Candidates must successfully complete a background check and pre-employment health screening, which includes a drug screen. Tenet complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce. If offered this position, you will be required to show proof of full vaccination or obtain an approval of a religious or medical exemption prior to your start date. If you receive an exemption, you will be required to submit to regular testing in accordance with the law.

Pay

$30.00 per hour. Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.
