About the role
The Nurse Extern II role is designed for nursing students to gain practical experience in a healthcare setting. This position involves practicing nursing under the guidance of an RN mentor and assisting with patient care.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living
- Provide basic nursing care to the oncology population
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment under RN supervision
- Adhere to all applicable rules and regulations
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a nursing program
- Passing grade in relevant coursework
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Completion of an approved clinical rotation program
Skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic knowledge of oncology care
