Nurse Extern - Float Pool
Job Summary
This is a developmental program for nursing students who want to develop multiple and varied clinical skills in a multiple nursing specialities. This position requires participation in a guided training and development program aligned to the scope outlined by the State-specific Board of Nursing.
Responsibilities
- Provide expanded clinical experience for RN nursing students
- Aid the Registered Nursing staff by performing patient care activities
- Participate in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation
- Report significant observations to a Registered Nurse
Qualifications
- Education Required: Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program, and upon completion of first clinical rotation.
- Experience Required: None.
- Certifications Required: AHA BLS
About the Role
The Nurse Extern role is designed to provide expanded clinical experience for RN nursing students and to assist the Registered Nursing staff by performing patient care activities, which includes participating in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation, as well as reporting significant observations to a Registered Nurse.
