Nurse Extern

About the role

This PRN Nurse Extern position is in a General Surgery Trauma Unit. The role offers exposure to complex surgical and trauma cases and supports the transition from nursing student to professional nurse, with flexible scheduling options.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed RNs in delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to surgical and trauma patients.
• Support tasks such as patient admissions, vital signs, activities of daily living (ADLs), specimen collection, and documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Practice strict infection control protocols and participate in ongoing training to enhance clinical skills.
• Provide patient support, assist with clinical procedures, ensure accurate documentation, and contribute to a safe and effective care environment.
