About the role
Penn State Hershey Medical Center is an Academic Medical Center located in Central Pennsylvania with four-time Magnet accreditation. The 38‑bed medical oncology unit serves patients with hematological and oncological malignancies from internal medicine, gastroenterology, infectious diseases, and other specialties, and accommodates patients of size from all medical and surgical areas. Nurses on this unit receive training in chemotherapy administration and the care of hematology/oncology patients. Responsibilities
- Perform basic bedside care and selected nursing procedures.
- Partner with a Registered Nurse to learn and demonstrate physical assessment skills.
- Learn and demonstrate routine basic care skills (bathing, safety, and hygiene activities).
- Participate in a two‑week orientation that includes classroom and clinical components.
Qualifications
- Nursing student in the final year of an accredited Nursing Program with completion of one clinical rotation.
- Or Graduate Nurse without Boards required.
