Nurse Division Charge/UKHC
Job Summary
Division Charge Nurse (DCN), responsible for assuring quality care during his/her tour of duty. Ensures adequate numbers of competent nurses are available to care for patients, serves as a clinical and systems resource for nurses and assists staff in planning for appropriate patient care delivery. Supervises nursing staff, provides guidance to staff during orientation and in their ongoing professional development, and collaborates with the Director and Patient Care Managers to assist with the performance reviews of staff. Develops collaborative relationships with physicians, ancillary staff, and the entire team. Interviews patients and families to ensure staff are exceeding patient/family expectations, interacts with nursing staff to ensure engagement in their work, resolves conflicts and problems among personnel, patients, physicians, and families. Facilitates quality patient care by identifying problems with patient care and initiating actions for resolution, ensuring policies and guidelines are followed, facilitating staff completion of competency requirements, and coordinating quality improvement projects.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Required Education: BSN
- Related Experience: 2 years required
- Licenses/Registrations/Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN)
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
- Maintains Microsoft Office, Access, Excel proficiency.

Shift
Must be able to work three twelve hour night shifts per week from 7am-7:30pm; some weekends and holidays are required per departmental needs.
Preferred Education/Experience
Neonatal ICU experience preferred.
