Nurse Director

Job Description Summary

Directs clinical service activities for the assigned units. Works collaboratively with the Administrative Director to establish annual operating goals and objectives, develop and monitor operating budgets, oversee recruitment and team development, ensure high quality, cost-effective healthcare, provide analyses and recommendations to senior leadership, and maintain budgetary/fiscal practices.

Responsibilities

• Directs clinical service activities for the assigned units.
• Collaborates with the Administrative Director to establish annual operating goals and objectives for the assigned units.
• Ensures units' efforts align with the Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry and the SVP.
• Develops and monitors operating budgets, adhering to budget constraints and developing mechanisms to maintain cost efficiency.
• Oversights recruitment and team development needs.
• Ensures high quality, cost effective health care by enforcing compliance of safety, processes, policies, and procedures.
• Provides analyses and recommendations to SVP regarding gaps between performance outcomes vs. standards.
• Maintains and improves clinical care within the assigned units towards the goal of being rated among the best in the United States.
• Periodically monitors budget expenses, identifies variances, and reports as appropriate.
• Collaborates with Administrative Director to develop strategies and plans to reduce risk of health care associated infections and patient harm resulting from falls.

Qualifications

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida is required.
• BLS/CPI certification is required.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree, Masters in Health related degree preferred.
• Experience: Two years experience in nursing at management level.
