Nurse Data Collection Specialist

About the role

We’re searching for a Nurse Data Collection Specialist to be part of the best-ranked children’s hospital in Texas and among the best in the nation. In this position, you will collect and report patient and unit data to promote alignment and clinical integration within the department. The data provided will ensure a comprehensive system of care to optimize strategic and operational coordination, improve outcomes for ill children, and enhance the most efficient, safe, and timely utilization of resources.

Responsibilities

• Complete all data collection and data entry carefully and accurately per the database requirements for the highest level of data quality and integrity.
• Maintain an Excel database to ensure that all the department's admissions are accurately captured with data collection.
• Successfully complete all data training and certification requirements for data collection, data entry, and validation.
• Participate in quarterly inter-reliability exercises.
• Notify the site coordinator of any issues related to potential data errors or inaccuracies.
• Participate in internal quality checks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in nursing, or
• Associate degree in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement, or
• Associate degree in a related field accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing for the purposes of obtaining and maintaining an RN license, or
• Technical diploma in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement, or
• Currently enrolled in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSN.

Verified BSN-equivalency or a signed agreement is required.

Qualifications

• RN - Licensed Registered Nurse by the Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing Licensure Compact.
• 2 years of clinical experience in a pediatric special care or equivalent unit.
