About the role
The position is responsible for providing academic advising services to students.
- Assist students in developing educational plans that meet their academic goals.
- Provide guidance on course selection, degree requirements, and transfer credit evaluation.
- Conduct initial and follow-up meetings to monitor student progress and address academic concerns.
Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day operations within the advising center, including scheduling appointments, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with institutional policies.
- Oversee the coordination of resources and support staff to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance student success and retention rates.
- Collaborate with faculty members and other departments to provide comprehensive support to students.
Requirements
Must have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least one year of relevant experience in academic advising or a closely related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with student information systems.
