Nurse

Key Responsibilities

• Auxiliary the Nurse Practitioner during medical evaluations and follow-up visits.
• Document clinical findings and treatment plans during rounds as directed by the NP.
• Prepare patients for examinations, including checking vital signs and reviewing current medication lists.
• Act as a liaison between the NP and the multi-disciplinary clinical team (counselors, case managers).
• Collaborate with the Medical Assistant (MA) regarding Medication Administration Records (MARS) and new orders by the NP.
• Support medication management and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) by administering and monitoring MAT medications like Buprenorphine, Naltrexone, or Vivitrol under NP supervision.
• Educate patients on medication side effects, adherence, and the physiological aspects of recovery.
• Coordinate pharmacy orders and prior authorizations for specialized addiction medications.
• Conduct regular withdrawal screenings using standardized tools such as the COWS and CIWA.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and Medication Administration Records (MARs) in compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.
• Absolutely ensure all medical orders from the NP are executed promptly and documented correctly.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the clinical area and assist in the maintenance of medical supplies.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Current, unrestricted RN/LPN license in the state of WI.
• Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience; prior experience in behavioral health, SUD treatment, or detox settings is highly preferred.
• Certifications: Current BLS/ACLS certification.
• Language: Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.
