Nurse Assistant-Telemetry Cardiology-36 hr/ week-Days-Detroit
About the Role
The I5 Cardiac Telemetry Unit specializes in cardiology, heart failure, and arrhythmias/dysrhythmias. This 32-bed unit cares for patients including those with acute myocardial infarction, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, post-op cardiac catheter procedures, newly placed pacemakers, post EP procedures, and coronary artery bypass graft from the ICU. Patients receive care from an interprofessional team collaborating to ensure an evidence-based practice plan for the best outcomes.
Under the direction and supervision of the responsible Registered Nurse (RN), you will perform specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs, assist in planning and implementing patient care, and respond to emergent situations according to established procedures. You will also participate in your own continuing education.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Must meet one of the following criteria:
- Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (e.g., Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Patient Assistant Technician (PAT)).
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program with or without experience.
- At least one (1) year of previous experience in an NA, PCT, PAT, or similar role.
- Currently enrolled in a nursing program and have successfully completed the Fundamentals of Nursing course.
- Foreign trained and licensed RN who has relocated to the United States and does not hold a Michigan RN license.
Qualifications
- Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) license preferred.
- Complete BLS Heartsaver Certification during orientation.
