6 North West IMU-Acuity Adaptable is a 35‑bed unit that offers a patient‑family centered approach to both Medical and Progressive Level of Care. Patients stay with us through the progression of care. We promote Team‑Based Care that includes the patient and family to develop shared goals of care. This multidisciplinary collaboration brings the patient and family together in meaningful ways to provide quality patient care.
Royal Oak Hospital is recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the #2 hospital in Michigan and one of the top hospitals in the country. It is a major academic and referral center with Level I adult and Level II pediatric trauma designations. The hospital has earned Magnet designation four consecutive times and houses Michigan’s first Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence.
Primary location: Royal Oak Hospital, 3601 W 13 Mile Rd, Royal Oak.
Responsibilities
- Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services.
- Provides observer services for patients requiring constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize safety.
- Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
- Documents care provided in the electronic medical record.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Completion of a nursing assistant program and/or one year of nursing assistant experience preferred.
- Nursing Assistant certification preferred.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
