Job Title: Nurse Aide Instructor/Skills Evaluator
About the Role
SCC is accepting applications for part-time Nurse Aide Instructors and part-time Nurse Aide Instructor/Skills Evaluators. Positions may include day, evening and weekend hours as course schedules vary.
Responsibilities
- Administer the program in accordance with the Nurse Aide Training Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP)
- Provide instruction for nurses’ aides consisting of 3.5 credit hours with 36 hours of classroom instruction, 20 hours of lab instruction and 32 hours of clinical training in a long-term care facility
- Prepare a class schedule adhering to the mandated requirements for the hours of instruction as well as maintaining attendance records and student grades
- Evaluate candidates for the State of Iowa Nurse Aide Skills Competency Exam
Requirements
- RN with a minimum of two years of nursing experience, at least one year of which shall be in the provision of long-term care facility services
- An active State of Iowa RN license
- An Associate degree in Nursing, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2 or more years full-time experience as an RN, with a minimum of 1 year full-time experience as an RN in a long-term care facility
- Must successfully complete the State of Iowa Train the Trainer program for the 75 HR CNA Program
- CPR and Mandatory Reporter Certification
- Previous teaching experience is preferred
- Strong communication skills along with the ability to promote a positive learning environment
