Requirements
- Completed the state Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) exams
- Hold a “NAC Pending” status
- Have not worked at another facility under your current NAR registration
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Currently enrolled in a State-approved CNA program (may work for a single consecutive period of four months; must meet certification requirements to become a CNA at the end of this period)
- CPR certification upon hire or obtained during orientation (must remain current during employment)
Responsibilities
- Provide routine daily nursing care to assigned patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse to ensure patient safety and well-being
- Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Implement and interpret nursing department programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
- Perform proficiently in competency areas including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
- Maintain professional working relationships with associates, vendors, and others
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and/or confidential information
- Adhere to company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures
- Display integrity and professionalism by completing mandatory training (e.g., Code of Conduct)
Essential Functions
- Lift, turn, move, position, and transport patients under direct supervision
- Assist patients with baths, showers, personal grooming, feeding, and toileting
- Accurately document and chart patient care
- Respond to call lights promptly
- Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward patients
- Assist in patient evacuations
- Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
- Concentrate, use reasoning skills, and exercise good judgment
- Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
- Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
- Read, write, speak, and understand English
- Perform physical tasks: lift 35 lbs. floor to waist, lift 35 lbs. waist to shoulder, lift and carry 35 lbs., and push/pull 35 lbs.
