Nurse Aide/Healthcare Tech - Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) Cardiac Intermediate 6T Unit FT Nights
About the role
Supports patients/residents with activities of daily living. Assists with personal hygiene, taking vital signs, height and weight measurements, feeding and ambulating patients/residents. Maintains patient/resident rooms in a clean and orderly condition. Observes and reports changes in patient/resident conditions. Orients patients/families to unit and instructs on safety measures. Performs clerical duties such as answering phones, entering data, and maintaining medical records. Manages inventory of stock supply items. Performs technical tasks such as administering a 12-Lead Electrocardiogram test and routine venipuncture.
Responsibilities
- Safely transports patients/residents using appropriate equipment.
- Assists with patient/resident transfers and positioning.
- Administers medications as per physician orders and policies.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to ensure patient/resident care plans are met.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation of patient/resident care activities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current listing with the DFS Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I or with the applicable state Board of Nursing as a Nurse Aide II.
- BLS required per policy guidelines.
- Physical requirements include walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stretching, stooping, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support 35 pounds.
- Must speak and understand English in good understandable terms. Must have manual and finger dexterity.
Qualifications
- Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Knowledge of patient rights and confidentiality.

Pay
$19.80 - $29.70 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Full-time nightshift, 1900-0700, 36 hours per week. Requires working every third weekend.
