About the role

The Capitol Region Mental Health Center (CRMHC), under the umbrella of the State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), is seeking a qualified Nurse (PCN 130560) to join our team in Hartford.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning of care and ensure effective implementation of the nursing process.
  • Identify educational gaps among staff and support the development of annual competencies.
  • Facilitate client-centered groups focused on life skills needed for successful community transition.
  • Provide oversight to maintain unit workflow and ensure priorities are identified and completed.

Requirements

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • First shift, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Rotating Schedule.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.

Skills

  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practice and ethics.
  • Current medications, their actions, interactions, uses and side effects.
  • Medical, therapeutic and psychiatric nursing interventions and methods.
  • Sensitivity to cultural and socio-economic differences.
  • Ability to apply clinical therapeutic models of individual care with emphasis on interdisciplinary team approach.

Pay

  • Salary calculations are not necessarily comparable from one of the three branches of state government (i.e., Executive, Legislative, Judicial) to the other.
