About the role
The Capitol Region Mental Health Center (CRMHC), under the umbrella of the State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), is seeking a qualified Nurse (PCN 130560) to join our team in Hartford.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning of care and ensure effective implementation of the nursing process.
- Identify educational gaps among staff and support the development of annual competencies.
- Facilitate client-centered groups focused on life skills needed for successful community transition.
- Provide oversight to maintain unit workflow and ensure priorities are identified and completed.
Requirements
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- First shift, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Rotating Schedule.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
Skills
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practice and ethics.
- Current medications, their actions, interactions, uses and side effects.
- Medical, therapeutic and psychiatric nursing interventions and methods.
- Sensitivity to cultural and socio-economic differences.
- Ability to apply clinical therapeutic models of individual care with emphasis on interdisciplinary team approach.

Pay
- Salary calculations are not necessarily comparable from one of the three branches of state government (i.e., Executive, Legislative, Judicial) to the other.
