What You'll Do
- Administers medication (e.g., oral, intramuscular, and intravenous)
- Makes rounds to monitor patient medication compliance
- Performs treatments and assists with sick calls
- Manages chronic care clinics
- Responds to emergencies providing emergency care and CPR
- Conducts subjective and objective assessments of patients
- Collects vital signs and documents findings
- Captures urine and other bodily fluid specimens
- Prepares patients for release or transfer to other facilities
- Ensures discharge medication orders are completed and forwarded to pharmacy
- Participates in work-related training and institution exercises
- Assists other healthcare staff
- Investigates and documents problem areas or concerns
- Reviews shift reports from preceding shifts
- Assists physicians with medical procedures
- Assumes duties of other nurses during absences
- Counsels/provides education to patients regarding healthcare maintenance and disease prevention
- Participates in quality assurance activities
- Trains and directs new nurses, agency nurses, LPNs, and hospital aides
- Serves as a resource person for other healthcare and security staff regarding healthcare matters
- Provides orientation and training for new healthcare personnel
- Serves as the lead clinical authority on site in the absence of the HCA, QIC, medical director, and/or advanced level provider staff
- Participates in group programming
- Engages in health and wellness initiatives
- Performs administrative duties as indicated
- Attends meetings
- Schedules multidisciplinary team meetings
- Assumes the duties of shift charge as assigned by the HCA
- Assists ancillary staff as needed to ensure patient care needs are met
Pay
Starting pay is approximately $80,000 based on location/shift assignments.
Qualifications
Requires current licensure as registered professional nurse in state of Ohio as issued by Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of Ohio Revised Code.
