NUMERICAL CONTROL PGMR 4/NC PROGRAMMER

About the role

Develops and writes programs for numerically controlled machines using engineering specifications and drawings. Analyzes engineering drawings to define configuration of parts and determine type and sequence of machine operations. Develops programs for machining parts, tools, or sheet metal on numerically controlled machine tools. Makes proper cutter selections for each part, taking into consideration such factors as speeds, types of cutters, feeds, and control system limitations. Selects program routines for the most efficient computer calculation of dimensional and machining requirements for each part. Tests and modifies existing parts programs for engineering changes or program improvements.

Requirements

• Must have Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience; One of the following may be used as an equivalent to Bachelor's Degree for Information Technology Related Positions Only: NNS Apprentice School graduate Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
• A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Developing Post Processors and full simulation kits within Siemens NX using Post Builder and Post Configurator.
• Experience developing utilities with NX Open automation tools using C# or Visual Studio – Visual Basic.
• Experience developing Vericut machine simulations.

Skills

Must have skills in developing programs for numerically controlled machines, analyzing engineering drawings, selecting program routines, making proper cutter selections, and testing and modifying existing parts programs.

$101,000.00 to $127,000.00
