Nuclear Project Engineering Manager

This role functions in a supervisory capacity, independently developing and applying advanced engineering techniques to unique problems while supervising project budgets, schedules, and technical output for medium to high-complexity projects. With minimal oversight, you will interface directly with clients on all technical aspects, manage scope changes, and support business development. This position supports the global nuclear program, and any offer will be conditional on satisfying citizenship requirements outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations 10 CFR 810.

Responsibilities

• Proactively provide guidance on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and company policies.
• Assist in developing, maintaining, and updating engineering standards; provide technical guidance to others.
• Ensure compliance with the company’s quality program, establish related processes, and promote a culture conducive to quality.
• Support continuous improvement and change management efforts.
• Actively coordinate with internal and external team members on complex projects, defining project schedules for single or multiple disciplines.
• Identify key client interests and drivers, communicate them to the project team, and develop approaches to accommodate these concerns.
• Manage project changes directly with the client under supervision from the Project Manager.
• Support business development and pursuit activities.
• Advance knowledge management, mentor others, and serve as a subject matter expert in a technical area.
• Participate in professional societies, present papers, contribute to technical committees, and assist with code/standard authoring.
• Oversee performance management, career planning, recognition, learning and development, and corrective actions for team members.
• Handle administrative responsibilities, including office administration, policy implementation, and adherence to corporate programs.
• Approve timesheets and expense reports as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program.
• Minimum of 11 years of related work experience.
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, including background checks, drug screens, and motor vehicle records searches.
• Must satisfy citizenship requirements outlined in 10 CFR 810 for roles supporting the global nuclear program.

Qualifications

• Prior nuclear experience preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides/standards related to the assigned discipline.
• Intermediate knowledge of other disciplines, industry trends, company quality programs, construction practices, procurement, and contract administration.
• Working knowledge of project controls, estimating, and proposal processes.
• Intermediate knowledge of company/division/HR programs, policies, procedures, and organizational structure.
• Intermediate knowledge of management techniques and administrative practices.
• Professional registration or licensure in the designated home office country (or active pursuit thereof) is typically required; additional licensure may be needed for assignments in different countries.

Work Environment

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion, job performance, and work assignments.

Pay

Annual compensation range for this role in the state of Maryland: $162,384 – $271,176. Final compensation is determined based on skills, experience, qualifications, internal alignment, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law.
