Nuclear Principal Engineer
for section headings: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule.
We have About the role, Responsibilities, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. No Requirements separate; we could combine Qualifications as Requirements? But we have Qualifications heading; we can keep Qualifications. The instruction says use those headings if applicable. We'll include Qualifications.
We must not repeat job title as heading.
We must not put Job ID/requisition numbers as headings.
We must use - for any list of duties/requirements/benefits, and
for prose.
Thus for each section we need to decide if content is list or prose.
About the role: prose paragraph(s). Could be multiple sentences; we can put in
.
Responsibilities: list of duties. We'll extract bullet points.
Qualifications: list (maybe mix of prose and list). We'll treat as list.
Skills: list.
Benefits: list.
Pay: prose (maybe just one sentence).
Schedule: prose (maybe one sentence).
Now extract details.
About the role paragraph: Let's combine sentences:
"As a Nuclear Principal Engineer you will provide miscellaneous plant support to the operations of the Wolf Creek Generating Station (WCGS) in fulfillment of the Core Design & Safety Analysis function outsourcing arrangement between the Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Company and Westinghouse Electric Company. These responsibilities require knowledge of WCGS's in-house safety analyses, acquiring and maintaining the necessary qualifications in WCGS procedures, and knowledge of the Westinghouse safety analyses to be used to help operate the WCGS. A secondary focus will involve the provision of transient analyses, as assigned, to support other Westinghouse customers. You will report to the Manager, Integrated Site Engineering, Safety Analysis, Risk Applications, and Licensing. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, blending remote flexibility with working 2 days per week onsite at our Wolf Creek Generating Station (WCGS) in Burlington, Kansas."
Note there is a duplicate "to the to the". We'll correct to "to the Manager, Integrated Site Engineering, Safety Analysis, Risk Applications, and Licensing."
Now Responsibilities: The text under "Key Responsibilities" includes multiple sentences; we can split into logical items:
- Perform safety analysis engineering efforts at Wolf Creek Generating Station (WCGS).
- Perform complex engineering design and analyses in the commercial nuclear industry, providing technical input and written documents supporting the design, development, performance, and delivery of technical products and services.
- Initially, primary focus will support the successful transition of the WCNOC Core design and safety analysis methodology to Westinghouse methodology.
- Directly responsible for daily overall WCNOC customer satisfaction in the area of fuel reload design and support.
We could also include other items that appear later under Qualifications but those are more qualifications; we keep them there.
Now Qualifications: The block after "Qualifications:" includes:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Nuclear preferred) or Physics required.
- Minimum 10+ years of applicable experience
- Perform assigned analyses related to the delivery of fuel reloads including fuel core and thermal hydraulic design, Chapter 15 LOCA, non-LOCA and containment transient analysis.
- Unescorted access at Wolf Creek Generating Station will be required.
- Provide periodic updates and recommendations regarding the nature and status of work/projects to all appropriate internal and external personnel.
- Develop and deliver presentations to communicate statuses, problem resolutions, recommendations, or promote business-related products.
- Develop procedures, processes, and methods for implementing technical requirements.
We'll list each as
- .
Now Skills (Beneficial Skills):
- Expertise in the use of standard Thermal-Hydraulic computer codes used to support WCGS operations, including RETRAN02, VIPRE01, and Westinghouse-specific equivalents.
- Familiarity with NRC Requirements for safety analysis applications.
- Detailed knowledge of the WCGS customer organization and daily work practices in the area of fuel reload design, safety analysis, core performance/reactor engineering, and system engineering.
- Detailed knowledge of both existing WCGS and Westinghouse safety analysis methodologies and the interface of the safety analysis methodology with the WCGS core performance, PRA, Design Engineering, and Operations groups.
Now Benefits: list items from the benefits paragraph:
- Comprehensive Medical benefits which could include medical, dental, vision, prescription coverage and Health Savings Account (HSA) with employer contributions options

Now Pay: "The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200 to $129,000 per year."
Now Schedule: "The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, blending remote flexibility with working 2 days per week onsite at our Wolf Creek Generating Station (WCGS) in Burlington, Kansas." Actually we already mentioned that in About the role; but we can still have Schedule section with that detail. However we might duplicate. The instruction: preserve ALL substantive information; we can include it in both sections? Might be duplication but okay. However we might avoid duplication by moving schedule info to Schedule section and remove from About the role. But About the role already includes that sentence; we could keep it there and also have Schedule section repeating same info; that would be duplication. Better
for prose. Thus for each section we need to decide if content is list or prose. About the role: prose paragraph(s). Could be multiple sentences; we can put in
