Nuclear Pharmacy Apprentice

Nuclear Pharmacy is responsible for providing radiopharmaceuticals and other drugs to medical care providers under highly regulated State and Federal guidelines. May also consult with or advise physicians and nuclear medicine technologists on the safe and efficacious use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and therapy.

Schedule

• Part Time, 9 hours per week
• Typical schedule: Sundays from 1:30 AM to 10:30 AM
• Must be flexible to work different days, hours, and schedules based on business need

Responsibilities

In this role, under immediate direction of a qualified licensed Nuclear Staff Pharmacist, the Nuclear Pharmacy Apprentice assists with basic high-tech pharmacy services by preparing, dispensing, and distributing quality radiopharmaceuticals according to the rules and regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy. This role has responsibility for:

• Assisting in preparing and dispensing radiopharmaceuticals in keeping with the prescription and Company, State, and Federal regulations
• Assisting in providing follow-up service to the client or health care provider as needed
• Assisting in assaying medications to determine identity, purity, and strength
• Assisting in performing white blood cell labeling
• Entering data regarding daily elution, kit preparations, and incoming inventory into the computer
• Verifying physical inventory with computer records
• Maintaining lab equipment by performing checks and tests on a regular basis
• Performing other duties as required to ensure a safe and efficient pharmacy operation

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience (preferred)
• Enrollment in an accredited school of pharmacy
• 2 years of general work experience (preferred)
• Customer service skills
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
• Must be 18 years of age to use a company vehicle if needed

Pay

Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour
