About the role

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will perform a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative in the utilization of radionuclides and ultrasonography for the diagnosis and therapy of disease.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proficiency and competence in all aspects of Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, and other applicable modalities.
  • Demonstrate competence in image and examination processing, quality control within the modality, and PACS.
  • Teach new technologists and peers.
  • Administer and monitor radiopharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical materials per guidelines.
  • Competently perform interventional procedures such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, needle localizations, breast biopsies, core biopsies, aspirations, and therapy treatments.
  • Identify and initiate accurate assessment of life-threatening conditions.
  • Place accurate orders in the HIS system, making all additions, corrections, and cancellations as necessary; confirm accurate interfaces from HIS to PACS.
  • Place and/or confirm accurate medical records.
  • Interview patients for pertinent medical history and obtain consents prior to performing studies, as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of directly related clinical experience in Nuclear Medicine and Sonography.
  • Nuclear Medical Technologist: CA (NMTL:CA) certification upon hire.
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT (RTR) upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR) within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate of Arts degree upon hire.

Pay

$66.88 - $78.69 per hour.
