Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Job Summary
A nuclear medicine technologist performs nuclear medicine and molecular imaging procedures or therapies at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner and under the supervision of an authorized user. This position requires preparing, administering, and documenting activities related to ionizing and nonionizing radiation, medications, and radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, and institutional policy.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, administer, and document activities related to ionizing and nonionizing radiation, medications, and radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, and institutional policy.
- Perform computed tomography exams that create the images needed for interpretation.
- Ensure compliance with sterile technique guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
- Current license as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the State of Indiana.
- Current ARRT (N) or NMTCB registry.
- If hired without certification, must have radiology student permit and must obtain certification and license within six months of hire.
- 2-year associate degree in Nuclear Medicine required, bachelor's degree preferred.
- Two years of Nuclear Medicine clinical experience, which can be obtained through participation in an accredited Nuclear Medicine training program.
