About the role

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist operates imaging equipment and software, primarily nuclear medicine imaging equipment, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires expertise in operating specialized equipment, ensuring radiation safety, maintaining high-quality imaging standards, and prioritizing effective patient communication and safety. A strong commitment to patient care, technical expertise, and collaborative communication with patients and healthcare professionals is essential to provide optimal care.

Responsibilities

  • Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment and software to acquire high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Ensure radiation safety and maintain high-quality imaging standards.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and providing emotional support.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
  • Follow complex instructions with strong attention to detail.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiology Sciences Program in Nuclear Medicine with required clinical hours completed.
  • No prior experience required.
  • State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.
  • Certification/Registration: NMTCB or ARRT (N) OR registry eligible (achieve registry within 2 months of eligibility).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge in operating imaging equipment and using imaging software.
  • Skilled in patient communication and providing emotional support.
  • Ability to work effectively within a healthcare team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
  • Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

Schedule

  • Full-Time (40 hours per week) - Days
  • No weekends, no call
  • 8 or 10 hour shifts

Pay

  • Sign-On Bonus: $10,000
