About the Role

This is a full-time position located at the Main Campus in the Nuclear Medicine department, with a schedule of 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. A $20,000 sign-on bonus is available.

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will perform a variety of scintigraphic procedures using gamma cameras, PET/CT scanners, and other scintillation devices. Responsibilities include advanced procedures such as Nuclear Cardiology, WBC labeling, and PET/CT imaging.

Responsibilities

• Administer radioactive substances to patients for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes while ensuring safety and minimizing contamination.
• Measure and verify radiopharmaceutical doses.
• Perform quality control as required and assist in QA/PI activities.
• Prepare radiopharmaceuticals for patient administration.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with personnel at all levels within and outside the organization.
• Communicate clearly and care for a diverse patient population across all ages and cultures.
• Document clinical information, including required quality control values.
• Interpret policies and procedures of SGMC Health, regulatory standards, and reimbursement rules.

Requirements

• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography or Nuclear Medicine, or certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Staff Nuclear Medicine Technologist preferred.
• Ability to develop and grow a competent, caring team.
• Flexibility in work schedule, assignments, and workload.
• Strong clinical skills.

Working Conditions

• Duties require considerable sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and lifting (in excess of 50 pounds).
• Pushing objects such as wheelchairs and stretchers.
• Comfortable working conditions but subject to irregular schedules, including weekends.
• Exposure to high levels of stress and potential communicable diseases.
