About the role
The NTA - Analytical Technician provides high-quality analytical data to release products in support of the objectives and goals of the Silicones business.
Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory analyses/operations for product quality in support of manufacturing operations.
- Prioritize and analyze special request samples.
- Using tools, evaluate validity of data, apply basic statistics, compare to spec limits, and take appropriate action.
- Document, communicate, and archive results.
- Perform skilled operation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of analytical instrumentation.
- Work effectively with employees with a wide range of educational backgrounds, communication styles, and from different functions (R&D, TS&D, Manufacturing, etc.).
- Participate in facility management, including, but not limited to managing materials & supplies, housekeeping, and managing waste in accordance with RCRA guidelines.
- Coordinate with instrument vendors for PMs and repair work.
- Promote an environment of teamwork while leading through example.
- Follow EH&S and Operating Discipline / Quality System procedures and practices.
- Utilize electronic tools such as MIDAS, OPD, MTL, Outlook, and SAP.
- Assure compliance to all ISO 9001:2015 and other quality system requirements.
- Assure compliance with all EH&S requirements.
- Achieve personal learning needs utilizing the available learning resources.
- Complete lab and facility training program and maintain qualification on all applicable tests and quality system requirements in accordance with the organization's training and qualification procedure.
- Complete additional technical training in accordance with an employee development plan.
- Develop, validate, and continuously improve existing work processes, procedures, and analytical methods.
- Be available for overtime as needed.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior work experience in an industrial environment (manufacturing, warehousing or equivalent trade) is required.
- Two years of previous experience in an analytical laboratory is preferred.
- Computer and technical literacy demonstrated by the ability to work with various computer programs, including Microsoft Office and MIDAS.
- Organizational and planning capabilities demonstrated by the ability to set and communicate priorities and successfully manage multiple tasks.
Physical requirements
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Able to work on feet for extended period of time (up to 75% of shift).
- Good manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
- Able to work a reasonable amount of overtime per the contract and/or business needs.
